Meet Genevieve Chase, U.S. Army — 2026 Veteran
Genevieve Chase is a decorated U.S. Army Reserve Senior Enlisted Soldier and former Counterintelligence Special Agent (35L) with over 22 years of service. She has completed multiple overseas tours, including two deployments to Afghanistan.
In 2006, during her first deployment with the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), her vehicle was attacked by a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, resulting in a mild-traumatic brain injury and PTSD. Despite these challenges, she continued her service and deployed again in 2013 to Forward Operating Base Shank, known as "Rocket City," where she provided critical intelligence support under frequent rocket attacks.
Chase is the founder of American Women Veterans, a nonprofit organization established in 2009 to advocate for the rights and well-being of women veterans. She has testified before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the U.S. Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, and spent a decade championing healthcare improvements and policy changes for veterans.
Her advocacy work has been recognized nationally; she was inducted into the U.S. Army Women's Foundation Hall of Fame, named a L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth honoree, and received the Daily Points of Light Award.
Currently, Chase is a Pat Tillman Scholar, a Yale Law School Launchpad Scholar, and a student in the prestigious Grand Strategy program at Yale University, where she is pursuing a degree in philosophy with aspirations to study Post-conflict Reconciliation and attend law school.
She is currently enrolled in the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy Distance Learning Course (Class 51).
