Meet MSgt Susie Loranger — 2015 Wounded Veteran

Susie Loranger was born in Los Angeles, California and is the middle of three children. She graduated from Nogales High School. She enlisted in the United States Air Force on 18 April, 1994 as a Computer Operator.

Her first duty station was Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma assigned to the 33 Combat Communications Squadron. While assigned there, the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City was bombed. The blast destroyed/damaged 324 buildings within a 16-block radius causing $652 million worth of damage. 168 lives were lost and 680+ were injured. Susie was a part of the search and rescue team assisting with helping victims of the Oklahoma City Bombing.

Throughout the rest of her 20 years of military service, she deployed six times in support of Operation Stabilization Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina (x2), Operation Noble Anvil, Operation Southern Watch, and Operation Enduring Freedom (x2).

During her military career, she obtained a few conditions, including PTSD. MSgt Susie Loranger was Honorably Discharged in June of 2014 and is now retired in Massachusetts with her husband and two daughters. She works at the VA hospital in Massachusetts in the IT department supporting medical staff with technology to provide excellent care to those military veterans who continue to need medical support.
