Meet SSG Eric Estabrook — 2015 Wounded Veteran

Staff Sergeant Eric Estabrook enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer in August 2007 and was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC until he was Honorably Discharged in January 2013 after two deployments to Afghanistan.

During his first tour, Estabrook participated in over 250 missions throughout Wardak Province, clearing more than 13,000 kms and logging more than 1,100 mission hours. He experienced the tragic loss of two team members during separate enemy engagements involving IEDs and direct fire.

Estabrook served as a Squad Leader for over 50 dismounted patrols in Logar Province during his second tour. The explosive hazards found and neutralized by his squad were vital in saving the lives of his fellow service members. His experience, composure and strong leadership under numerous heavy enemy fire engagements earned him the Bronze Star Medal.
